Dr. Blalock grew up in Independence, Missouri.  In 1981, she graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.  She went on to the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and fulfilled her childhood ambition of becoming a dentist.  Dr. Blalock graduated in 1985 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.  After passing her dental boards, she was sworn in as a dental officer in the United States Navy.  After eight successful years, she resigned her Naval commission and began a private dental practice.  As a business partner in a multi-doctor practice, she furthered her dental education.  Dr. Blalock attended courses at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, and completed more than three times the amount of continuing education hours required by the state of South Carolina.  Dr. Blalock took ownership of her new dental practice August 3, 2010. Her pratice has an emphasis on family, cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry with health and wellness as her goal.

 
Dr. Blalock is married to a Charleston native, and has a 13 year old son, yellow Labrador Retriever, and an apricot Australian Labradoodle.  In her spare time, she sings in the CSO Spiritual Ensemble.
